Doreen’s journey began in the summer of 2008, when a friend invited her to take a yoga class with her. After several excuses, she gave in and took her first yoga class. After the first class, she was ready for the second and many more. “Prior to yoga, I felt stuck in a body that was yearning for a lot of healing mentally and physically. With each movement, each opening, my body began to receive the healing that yoga brings. I felt strong, gained a lot of self-esteem and fear that held me back, let go. Today yoga is one of my favorite forms of self-care.”
In 2017 Doreen completed her 200-hour teacher training at Transform Power yoga. An accomplishment she has come to appreciate every day.
Over the years, Doreen has practiced and embraced many different styles of yoga: hatha yoga, Baptiste yoga, power vinyasa, yin yoga, restorative yoga, core power yoga, Bikram (now Hot) yoga. “The different disciplines play a vital role in my yoga class flow. My classes are a combination of my own long-life love for movement and breathe building energy and relaxation. I strongly believe yoga is accessible to all, its accommodating and requires one to have an open mind and loving care for your body.”
“Among my many yoga teachers, I am indebted to my first yoga teacher Jenn Pici Falk, who was very instrumental in bringing me to this point of my life. Today I am surrounded by many teachers who inspire me everyday on this beautiful journey! “
